Electrodynamic Sorting of
Light Metals and Alloys

O2M has partnered with the University of Utah to develop and market technologies to more efficiently extract and recycle non-ferrous metals from shredded vehicles and other industrial equipment.

The University of Utah’s Department of Metallurgical Engineering received a grant from ARPA-E to fund the development of a new light metal sorting technology.  This technology could reduce the 0.95-1.4 Mtons of non-ferrous metal “waste” that’s shipped to China, India and other foreign countries every year for manual metal separation and energy-intensive recycling.
